Hull City Council have secured £3.4m in government funding, to be spent over 3 years to support upgrades such as insulation, low-carbon heating systems and other energy-saving improvements for privately owned homes.
The scheme aims to -
- reduce energy bills
- increase home energy efficiency
- tackle fuel poverty
To be eligible, your home must -
- be in Hull
- be privately owned either by you or your landlord
- your household income must be £36,000 a year or less
- have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) of D, E, F or G. If you do not know your home's EPC, you can find it when you apply or check using the Government's EPC database. If your property does not have an EPC, E.ON can look to have an EPC carried out following initial eligibility checks
If your household income is higher than £36,000, you may still be eligible if either -
- you live in a qualifying postcode area
- someone in your household receives a qualifying benefit
What the funding can be used for
All proposed measures are subject to a full retrofit assessment. Measures must be delivered as a package based on the assessment findings, and customers are not able to select individual measures.
What you can get
If you’re eligible and your local council has funding available, they will arrange a home survey to see how your home could be made more efficient. They might suggest improvements like installing -
- wall, loft and underfloor insulation
- air source heat pumps
- smart controls
- solar panels
Applying for the Warm Homes Local Grant
Important update
Due to high demand for the scheme, we are unable to guarantee that all eligible applicants will receive a grant. At present, priority is being given to households who are either experiencing, or are at greatest risk of experiencing, fuel poverty.
These households are typically characterised by low incomes, limited or no savings, and may also include individuals with existing health conditions that make them more vulnerable.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue working to support as many households as possible.
How to apply
